Artist Statement
My influences range from diverse textile traditions to modernist paintings and contemporary quilts, with my earliest inspiration stemming from my mother's vibrant creations.
Dance training instilled in me a love of dynamic patterns, which I now express through textiles, balancing boldness and artistry.
Drawing from the definition of paradise as a walled garden, my work as a landscape designer informs my art, where each piece becomes a curated textile garden embodying its own climate and atmosphere.
As a maximalist, I attempt to find simplicity within complexity, echoing the harmony of a mandala, and I strive to evoke unity and balance, revealing patterns amidst chaos.
Ultimately, my art aims to express joy through beauty, transcending aesthetics to connect us all.
To quote Dostoevsky;
“Beauty shall save the world.”
