My passion is piecing, and I have developed a technique that I call "Material Matrix," whereby I use a gridded photograph to create a quilt using 2-inch squares. My favorite subjects are portraits, as they are the most challenging and also the most rewarding. All my quilts are pieced, with an occasional small hand-appliqued detail, no fusing. I quilt my pieces freehand on a Gammill longarm machine.

My background is in commercial illustration and lettering which was my career for over 30 years. I have been teaching nationally and internationally for over 10 years which I find most fulfilling. In addition to quilting, I am also a polymer artist and wearable art sewist.
