Part of my American Portraits Series, inspired by photographs taken during the 1930’s, these works are a tribute to the independent family farm, historically, and today. The idea of printing on vintage feed sacks from the same time period, could create a more significant statement, and utilizing this substrate resulted in the perfect marriage of my intention. Acquired from all over the U.S., the sacks arrived stained, torn, yet each uniquely different, much like the individuals they represent.
