Artist Statement
I like to bring math into my quilt designs. The images on this page are of quilts with large blocks that comprise nested and rotated Drunkards Path blocks in different sizes. I have also done this sort of thing with hexagons.
I have had success with acceptances for juried exhibitions in Australia and the US, including Quilt National. I also like writing for magazines. I am Vice President of our local quilting guild which has a membership of about 900. I consider myself fortunate that quilting allows me to bring together math knowledge from my career, writing skills developed when doing a Ph D., and my lifelong enjoyment in making things.
