Artist Statement
I consider making art to be an adventure: one filled with challenges, joys, frustrations, and surges of Adrenaline.
My medium of choice is fabric, which I assemble with layering and stitching. For the last few years, I’ve been dying all my own fabric. This is exhilarating! (But, challenging, too.) I move these fabrics around on my design wall to create compositions with the vivid colors and strong contrasts I prefer.
A self-taught artist, I didn’t realize I could create art until I was middle-aged. Reading, observation, and trial and error were my teachers, as I explored this new arena. Today, I continue to play and experiment, finding these to be vital components of my artistic adventures.
