Yoga Flow(ers)

This is the sixth in a series of wholecloth quilts that are layered with painted and block-printed Evolon, free-motion quilting, hand embroidery, and sequins. It celebrates my daily yoga practice which frequently begins by chanting Om, just as this piece started by printing a central Om symbol. It’s surrounded by lotus flowers representative of the lotus pose. The stitching was meditative as my needle goes in and out to form each stitch, just as my breath flows in and out for peace and strength.
