When I was growing up, red was a metaphor for communism, which still controls much of daily life in Cuba. In 2019 we visited Havana, where we were free to wander the downtown streets and admire the beautifully restored antique American vehicles for which it is famous. Along the way, we shot this photo of a worker napping in his red truck. This vehicle is a 1953 Ford F800 dump truck. I added the Cuban flag below the logo and simplified the image. The background is a decorative grillwork gate, of the sort we saw everywhere throughout the country.
