'Many Fires Burning' can be seen as an aerial map showing multiple fires of different sizes. Each fire season, a map of this sort is shown to news outlets. I tried to capture the color, heat, smoke, and charcoal created by fire. But this piece can also be a metaphor for political hot spots all over the world, where demonstrations often take place against government policies and/or leadership.
