My vibrant BiblioQuilts are not made of fabric. They are created using old, discarded books salvaged from basements, barns, and attics. I repurpose every part of those books - the covers, the pages, the spines - breathing new life into my materials with the addition of dyes, inks, and acrylics.
This series employs traditional quilt designs, but other pieces reflect more abstract or figurative styles. I work with underserved public libraries and schools around the country, producing customized BiblioQuilts at no cost to them, using books donated by those communities. The pieces are used to brighten up public spaces and generate funds for new books and supplies via print and poster sales.
