A famous Australian poem, My Country by Dorothea Mackellar contains these lines;
"I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains,"
All too often Australians are faced with these extremes. A lot of debris of objects plus people's hopes and dreams are washed away during cyclonic weather. My quilt, 'Flooding rain', is in memory of floods in Queensland.
