Yoko Sekita was born in Nagoya, Aichi-ken, Japan, in 1955. After graduating from art college, she worked as a designer at Toyota. She then debuted as a manga artist. After getting married, she left the company and started a family. One day, she happened to see a quilt show, and it inspired her to make quilts. She's won many prizes at quilt and textile competitions and was a guest artist for Tokyo Dome Quilt Festival. Sekita lives in Saitama prefecture with her architect husband and her daughter’s family, plus 5 cats. |
