Orts in Yellow and Green

I have recently been considering my personal contribution to waste and excess. I also work in a very small studio. I have challenged myself to use materials already in my possession in an effort to produce less garbage and to clean out a bit. "Orts in Yellow and Green" came about during an evening of improvisational work using only fabric scraps from past projects. I found it very rewarding and joyful to work this way and consequently have begun a series of "Orts" works. I love the texture provided by the frayed edges and the bright, hopeful feeling projected by yellow and green.
