Treasures of Our Local Watersheds (SAQA Regional) - Call for Entry

SAQA (Regional)
Call for Entry
Call for Entry Deadline

Open to all current SAQA Ohio and Pennsylvania primary and secondary region members.

Theme

A watershed is a land area that channels rainfall and snowmelt to creeks, streams, and rivers, and eventually to outflow points such as reservoirs, bays, lakes, and the ocean. Healthy watersheds strengthen biodiversity, improve soil quality, provide wildlife habitat, limit erosion and flooding, and provide recreation. Issues that can negatively impact watersheds include runoff, pollution, and climate change.

Members responding to the call for entry would be asked to investigate aspects of their local watersheds and respond visually. Artists will provide artist statements to help clearly communicate the connections between the work and the artists’ local watershed.
