SAQA Education Committee presents “Not the Art Part” panel discussion with Juried Artist Members Nancy Bardach, Lisa Flowers Ross, Paula Kovarik and Maria Shell. This is an opportunity for all SAQA members to learn about how these artists organize their professional files and images, use social media, and the goals they set for themselves. This presentation will be recorded and pre-registration is required.
Nancy Bardach is a full-time art quilter, ever seeking improvement to her expressive, glowing quilts. She is a retired Architect, addicted to museums, fabric, and family.
Idaho artist, Lisa Flowers Ross, holds degrees in studio art and business and has been creating with fabric since 2002. She has worked as a curatorial assistant at the Boise Art Museum, teaches workshops, works from her home studio, and currently is on the SAQA exhibition committee.
Paula Kovarik makes art with stitch and fabric in Memphis, Tennessee. Her work has been featured at the Visions Art Museum, Quilt National, and the National Quilt Museum, among others. She teaches her distinctive free-motion stitching techniques in workshops and through her book, At Play in the Garden of Stitch.
Maria Shell is a contemporary patchwork artist who teaches and exhibits her work internationally. Follow Maria on Instagram @talesofastitcher.
** Please note this event is only available to SAQA members. Portions of this event will be recorded.
