Sew to Speak (SAQA Regional) - Council for the Arts Chambersburg

SAQA (Regional)
Exhibition

Organized by the DC/DC/MD/WV Region and also including art by members of NC/VA and PA Regions, Sew to Speak explores ideas of meaning in textile art by showing how contemporary art quilters express themselves in their work.

Meaning in art quilts can take many forms. We asked artists how they express themselves in quilting. We asked them what they express: is it emotions, such as joy, love, pride, or grief? Is it identities, such as heritage, nationality, family, or gender? Is quilting used to express opinions or support causes?
