RiverSong: Art of the Mississippi Watershed
Active members of SAQA’s Open to all current SAQA IL/WI primary and secondary region members.
Theme
The Mississippi River Basin is a vast and intricate watershed that spans one third of North America, shaping the landscape and influencing ecosystems, economies and human activities across its expansive reach. It’s one of the largest drainage systems in the world covering 1.2 million miles. It encompasses a network of rivers, tributaries, and waterways that ultimately converge into the mighty Mississippi River.
Artists are invited to journey creatively and explore work inspired by the basin that can embrace its history, archeology, culture, geologic formation and commerce. Feel free to use realistic images or abstraction in your piece.
Join us in creating a visual symphony that celebrates the intricate dance between water and life within the expansive embrace of the Mississippi Watershed.
