The exhibit celebrates 16 diverse artists, some working in fiber arts, some as art quilters, some creating with mixed media, all tied together by their use of stitch: a mark maker, a structural element, a decoration, a central focus, or a juxtaposition that boundaries otherwise light, ethereal work, or the sense of urgency regarding contemporary social issues. The exhibit pushes the boundaries of the art world's definitions of painting, sculpture, quilt, fiber art, and design of all kinds.
Featherstone Center for the Arts, a non-profit art initiative, invites individuals from around the New England area (and beyond) to attend and experience the world of stitched fine art.
