Anniversaries provide the opportunity for reflection and celebration. Lake Burley Griffin, named after Walter Burley Griffin, the Chicago architect who won the design for Australia's national capital, and nearby Lake George have anniversaries in 2024.

Dianne Firth, an adjunct professor at the University of Canberra, invited poets from the Centre for Creative and Cultural Research to write poetry about these lakes. These poems provided the inspiration and brief for the solo exhibition Poetry of the Lakes at the Belconnen Arts Centre, Canberra, ACT, Australia.

A full-color catalog has been produced for this exhibition.
