Active members of SAQA’s New Mexico region, resident and non-resident, are invited to apply, in addition, we welcome the Colorado/Wyoming/Utah and Arizona regions. This includes 1st and 2nd region members.
Theme
People and animals are distinguished by their individual personalities-
We’ve all known shy children and extroverted adults. Additionally, our dogs often look at us in a quizzical fashion, horses radiate kindness out of their huge eyes, and cats sometimes turn up their noses at us.
Wild animals range from playful otters to calculating raccoons and fierce, wild wolves.
Portray an intriguing personality trait in an abstract or figurative way.
Juror
Barbara Yates Beasley, one of the foremost animal portraitists of our time. Her website, Windows into the Soul of Animals, tells it all.
Barbara will select 30-35 pieces for the show.

The premiere venue for the show will be the Carlsbad Museum, New Mexico, February 2024.
