A’donna Richardson, founder of the African American Quilt Documentation Study Group, will present her research and recent fieldwork with African American quilt guilds. A’donna will share a brief historical context of African American quilters and highlight ways they have been excluded from mainstream American quilting. She will also cover the formation of African American guilds and share how she is uncovering lost history with quilt documentation.
