Topic Full Circle: A Conversation with Artist and Olympian Grace Latz

In the spirit of the upcoming Paris Olympics, join the International Quilt Museum for an extraordinary episode of Textile Talks with artist and Olympian Grace Latz.

As part of the Olympian Artist program, Latz traveled to Paris in 2023 to create a one-of-a-kind contemporary quilt with local senior citizens. Titled “Full Circle,” the quilt is informed by t-shirt quilts often used to commemorate achievement in sport. It features upcycled sports fabrics sourced from a French recycling center in addition to personal textiles from Latz’ Olympic experience.

Latz competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics, representing the United States in women’s rowing. A walk-on at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she helped win a Big Ten championship in 2010. She went on to win the World Rowing Championships in 2015.
