This exhibition presents a collection of 38 originally designed stitched fabric artworks created from over 600 unrelated fabrics and threads, using fusing techniques, raw edge applique, quilt stitching, and thread painting. The artworks present a chronological view of history as seen through the eyes and emotions of women from different countries, cultures, and religions. Women have been revered in some cultures and repressed in others and often must shout to be heard. The vivid colors and bold symbolic imagery in these works provoke those voices across a span of over 6000 years as women share their stories with their sisters and the viewers.
