Words Fail on a Bias

There are many kinds of biases when dealing with ideas. Eight broad types are named here: anchoring, availability, endowment effect, illusory correlation, causal base rate errors, belief perseverance, confirmation and cueing biases. Words will fail when trying to talk another out of a biased opinion. Instead, we must listen and endeavor to understand a differing point of view.
