Growing up in eastern Pennsylvania, cicadas dominated our summers- buzzing loudly in the heat of the afternoon, and leaving fascinating molted exoskeletons on our weeping willow.
I drew out a pattern from the wing veining, and used it as a pattern to frame brilliantly colored silks.
