Where Words Fail...Music Speaks

This piece was born out of a need of mine to rise from depression. As a musician I know that music has properties to heal the body, mind and soul. When there are no words, I will resort to music. A photo of this quilt was sent to a family friend whose mother suffered from severe Alzheimer's Disease. She had not spoken in weeks. Upon seeing the photo, she a musician herself, began to point out all the different musical symbols and speak their name. Words may fail, but music speaks.
