Ulysses' Wave

After my mother's death, I began to reflect on her aging and the changes that had crept up on us all very slowly, yet which had seemingly overnight become an undeniable reality. That led me to consider the wonder behind so many changes in our lives, e.g. an occurrence as common as one season transitioning to the next, or an event as monumental as realizing that the babies we have nurtured and protected have become independent adults. Ulysses' Wave is an exploration of the idea of transformation, centering on the invisible line that is crossed as we move from one state of being to the next.
