Wild Trillium growing outside my cabin and an old building I'd photographed were the inspiration for this work. This piece shows a major step in my development as I'm now using more quilting and fusible web to do raw edged applique. These are techniques I still use today.
Materials
cotton and blend fabrics, hand painted cotton, satin, netting and iridescent sheer fabrics
Techniques
I had painted the material for the buildings, tore it in strips and reassembled it to create the boards.Netting is stitched over the background to create the depth. Flowered fabric is outline cut and fused then stitched to the border. It is machine quilted
