This triptych is a continuation of my tree series. Tree bark, when observed closely represents a variety of shapes and colours associated with the species, and acts as a protective armour for the tree. The bark changes and grows, as the tree matures, healing over when injured, recording the tree's traumas, giving the tree character and support. The bark protects the inner rings, which are recording each event in the tree's history over many years.
