Tights come Down

My favorite subject in school, after art, was geography— especially geology. Seeing my first cave was an amazing experience, and I visit caves as often as possible. Several years ago, I took my kids on a visit to see Doolin Cave in County Clare, Ireland, which is home to the largest free-hanging stalactite in Europe. A spectacular sight, it is 7.3 meters long and weighs about 10 tonnes. Every time I see a stalactite or stalagmite, I smile and recall the way I learned to remember which is which, with the simple phrase“tights come down.”We live on this mind- blowingly beautiful planet, created through immense pressure and time. I try to appreciate and pay tribute to every inch of it, mindfully looking for hidden treasures in the ordinary.
