Three Sisters is one in a series of auto-biographic quilts completed during the 1990's. These works employed repetition of archetypal images to form an implied, metaphorical narrative. My intention was to simplify the color and range of materials to put emphasis on image and meaning; to neutralize any associations that might arise from specific fabrics.
