Tabloid Baby Quilt

After years of reading MAD magazine, my sons moved on to "The Weekly World News", an outlandish tabloid sold in the check-out lane of grocery stores. Unfortunately, my sons believed that what they were reading was real � it was a newspaper, after all � so I set out to illustrate for them how headlines might be invented. We had gleeful fun inventing these outlandishly lurid headlines as a family project. Of all the stenciled on this quilt, only one is taken verbatim from the "Weekly World News": "Devil Baby Born With Horns, Tail". The others are the mutant offspring of our overly fertile imaginations.
