Shibori stitched techniques, indigo dyeing and whole cloth quilt traditions give me the tools to depict in fabric the surging surf at the rocky shore at Cape Ann, MA. It's ironic that the calm, almost meditative act of indigo dyeing and the soothing rhythm of the hand stitching used in both shibori and quilting can create such an energetic image. Since 1990, landscape has given me more ideas for quilts than I have time to make them.
