While visiting Fairystone State Park in Virginia, I fell in love with this lake view. I interpreted the scene as a linocut printing plate and printed the image on white fabric. Colors chosen to paint the fabric were based on the desire to reflect a beautiful summer day. The elongated format of this quilt is reminiscent of Asian scrolls to enhance the feeling of a sacred space and time.
