Spring Mountain (Choon San)

Using "yo-yos" as the building blocks of portrait, I formed likenesses of For my mother's portrait, Spring Mountain (Choonsan, my mother).The titles came form the English translations of her name � and the meaning of her name is incorporated somehow in the work.
I wanted to convey her vitality and her strong personality. For her quilt, I used yo-yos of two different sizes and alternated them. This created a floral effect, rather like the mountainsides in spring alluded to in her name.
