From the beginning of my art quilting journey I've made quilts inspired by nature and as I've progressed have found myself more and more drawn to animal portraits. I am most intrigued with their expressions and portraying them in ways that express something about them but also about us, and how we treat the animals and each other.
Materials
Hand dyed and printed fabrics from Ghana and Nigeria, batik and commercial fabrics, thread, folded paper, fabric paint.
Techniques
Layered applique, satin stitched and thread painted with hand painted accents; machine quilted.
