The Sirens were winged creatures, neither fully humans nor fully gods. Their beauty and seductiveness were not in their bodies but in their voices. In my depiction, the Siren is beautiful but, like music, not fully seen, even though she is there in the center of the story. Abstract art is more than a pleasing placement of colors—it evokes emotions. Classic stories and myths are as much about emotions as they are about plot. This myth’s emotional impact on me is the basis of my abstract expressionist interpretation.
