Sailing Options

Improvisationally pieced, one triangle shape began to resemble a sailboat, so that imagery was carried throughout the piece. With prominent repeating triangles that convey sailboats and lighthouses, the complementary circular shapes support the landscape theme as either sun or moon imagery. The piece may be viewed as six vignettes, each with it’s own story, or a comprehensive whole, and the quilting represents the wind. The strong repeating triangles are the geometric expression in this piece.
