Repose

I’ve learned over the arc of a lifetime to feel lucky in the presence of a bird - not just an unusual one, but also — and sometimes especially — an ordinary one. Birds are both accessible and elusive. They live all over our homes and communities, and yet also in mysterious worlds of their own making and understanding. When I cultivate an awareness of their comings and goings, I deepen my respect and curiosity and each encounter begins to feel like a visit by a someone. Our crossing paths bring mystery and meaning unique to the moment.
