Red Flag Warning

When the ground is dry, and it is windy, local authorities will issue a “red flag warning” to alert the public to the elevated fire risk. This usually occurs in the spring, before there is new growth. I’ve noticed there are more and more alerts about fire danger as global warming has caused prolonged dry periods. These windy days are also ideal for flying kites, so I’ve included them in this piece.
