Precarious Balance

I use birds in my art because they are free in a way that humans can never be. Birds have wings that give them the power to escape predators and travel enormous distances to worlds, real and imagined, that humans can rarely visit. We see birds as messengers: their presence, absence, or condition gives us insight into the health of our surroundings, and they function as a harbinger of things to come.
