Plasti-City

I am interested in using the quilt as a narrative to explore issues of significance in our world. Plasti-City uses a traditional nine patch quilt form to illustrate the world’s pandemic of plastic and textile waste. Plastic quilts have led to community conversations about plastic waste locally and globally. A team of artists collaborated with local activists to create an art show and three radio programs to inform our local citizenry about this world-wide problem and to help everyone understand possible solutions.
