Penumbra

My partner and I quarantine-traveled to remote Abiquiu, New Mexico. While the magical nature of the light there is well documented, I was most taken by the nature of its darkness. The landscape was transformed in startling clarity by the moonless night: every stone, sage, and creature shown in rich and powerful blackness. We celebrate connection to others, but I valued this connection to a world I hadn’t known, and to solitude.
