We love the diversity amongst bird species: the colors and the different calls they make. We have a diverse population living in our garden in Canberra that give us pleasure every day, from noisy white Sulphur Crested Cockatoos that wake us in the morning flying over the house, King Parrots with their scarlet breast and the Satin Bower birds that are always on the lookout for anything blue.
With the Oyster Catcher, a wading bird, we were fascinated by the way they feed on the shoreline probing the sand or mud with their long beaks, but always on alert for danger.
