Overcoming With Grace

“A scalpel cut deep across my breast. The healing process albeit slow, represents a battle between body and brain leaving me forever changed. The scar is a constant reminder of my strength, my courage and my self-worth.”

I am fascinated by the human face and the process of transforming fabric into a recognizable image. I attempt to choose subjects with strong facial expressions or body language that engage the viewer. In this case, the person is my younger sister. It was a distinct honor and privilege to work with her and the photographer, Paula Hadland.
