Our brain is wired to analyze textures. Wide textures noticeable in nature are the effect of undisturbed repetition in growth cycles: a sign of species living healthily. We easily recognize when human-made works become a texture: for example, we understand that a well-developed cityscape is a sign of peaceful times. In Open Air, an abstract space has been created. It’s like the environment found when we leave home and look straight at the outside. We dive into a pool of light. Textures start to appear, giving us a sense of place.
