Having often taken my love of tide pool animals too literally this time I decided to pretend the happy octopus lives in a garden of plants, and animals that look like flowers.

Silk face and back, cotton and wool batting
Techniques
Katazome (Japanese stencil dyeing) with stencils cut by the artist, used to apply rice paste resist before dyeing. Free motion quilted on longarm.
