Birds are one of the most primal archetypal symbols. My Divorce Quilt: Shredded was an emotional response to having my husband start an affair after 25 years of marriage, and which ultimately shredded our lives and family. The black bird seemed like the best way to visualize and externalize my emotions.

Cotton, inks, paint, threads.
Techniques
Painted, raw-edge appliquéd, machine stitched and quilted.
