As an Air Force veteran, spouse to an Airman, and mother of two daughters, I understand the value of family time. Every moment counts, as it is a memory that is held onto until the whole family is back together again. Often we take for granted the little memories but this wall art quilt captures a father's and daughter' love while she dances on his toes. My intent was to auction this quilt off until my daughter and husband saw it and refused to allow me to sell it. It reminded both of them of precious memories, which for a military family is much more precious when you do not know when daddy is has to go into work on a day off or holiday, go to training in another state or country, or even deployed to defend our great nation. Every moment is special, not only to the parent but to the child as well. As the parent goes off to fulfil their duties the spouse and children are left behind and must learn to have courage to do the things that the military parent would normally do at home, stay strong no matter what life throws at them, and to sacrifice many wants and needs to include family time. Nevertheless, all is all right because a military family adapts and become stronger.
