Matisse and Picasso

My career as an art teacher and art museum educator has resulted in a very close connection and familiarity to many acclaimed artists. Having often compared styles and personalities of some of my personal favorites, I am paying homage and pairing them into a conversational narrative. The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas had a most wonderful exhibit, Matisse and Picasso: A Gentle Rivalry in 1999, with “rivaling” works that motivated and inspired them. My pairing also pays homage to that memorable exhibit!
