The arctic zone is on constant changes with the modification of the temperatures every year higher than the previous one. Since many years now, I feel greatly concerned by the impact of our way of life has on certain areas of the globe. This quilt is about the melting of the icebergs which lowers the ocean's temperatures and adds pure water to the oceans. Its long and narrow shape speaks of the highness of the icebergs and the broken quilted lines figure the unfortunately expected break of one huge iceberg into several smaller ones.
This quilt is part of my series on water and especially on tides. It is also part of my new series on one free sewn side strips adding 3D effect to the whole piece.
It was made during the lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic between the 20th of March and the 3rd of June 2020, in Geneva, Switzerland.
